Aquarium…again =D

On February 12th we took another trip up to the Churaumi! This time we were accompanied by Nick, Ariel, and Mike. We also made a stop at Pizza in the Sky after our aquarium visit. Here are some of the pictures we got!

I think awkward pictures are Josh’s specialty. The bottom six pictures are from Pizza in the Sky. It has an absolutely amazing view that I ,of course, forgot to get a picture of. Above that you see a picture of a bunch of cars. Guess who the one pulled in normally is, US! Everyone here loves to back their cars in, I couldn’t help but take that picture. Also I absolutely adore the picture of the turtle stalking Josh, it cracks me up!!

Cherry Blossom Festival

So on January 30th we took a trip to Nago for their Cherry Blossom Festival. So maybe you think you have an idea of what it’s like from the one in Washington, or pictures from mainland, probably not! While it was fun, it was not what I was expecting at all. There were actually very few cherry blossoms in bloom at the time of the festival. The weather here has been unusually cold for this time of year, or so I’ve heard.  The most beautiful trees were tucked between tacky game and food stalls. I’m sure I looked crazy trying to get pictures of the flowers, but I know I wasn’t the only one. A small portion of the band played at the festival(Josh not included). So we got to watch the performance and also caught some other fun things. We saw some boys break dancing, some taiko performances, a gigantic shisa, and traditional dancers. We saw a parade, but we had no clue what was going on. I took a bunch of random pictures and a video of the performances. You know I can never pass up a beautiful bakery window ;)

…And for dessert (of course we went back to that bakery, did you think we were crazy!!?)

Happy Valentine’s Day

For once I’ll actually write a happy holiday message on the holiday! Today is Valentine’s day and despite the lovey atmosphere it is, as usual, super gloomy. Winter here has been rough, full of overcast rainy days. Tonight Josh and I are going to Marino’s for dinner. I have a lot of things to update about! Cherry Blossom festival and the aquarium trip(#2). Hopefully a surprise post from Josh about division matches! I meant to update earlier but we’ve kept pretty busy. We kept our friends two children for about a week and that kept us busy. Lets just say I understand why they grow up gradually. It was a good exercise in patience that’s for sure. We did have some fun though! Hope you all have a happy Valentine’s day! And remember if you’re one of those sour people who doesn’t have a significant other, that it doesn’t just have to be about romantic love. There are plenty of people in your life that LOVE you. Love You All!! =D
